Significant Increase in Mobile Phone Imports to Uzbekistan in 2024

Uzbekistan Sees a Surge in Mobile Phone Imports in 2024

Uzbekistan’s mobile phone imports saw a significant increase in 2024, reaching approximately 4.2 million units, according to the State Statistics Committee. This marked a 23.5% rise compared to the previous year, indicating a growing demand for mobile devices in the country.

China maintained its position as the largest supplier of mobile phones to Uzbekistan, with a total of 3.4 million units, representing a 9.7% increase from 2023. Despite this growth, China’s share of the total import volume slightly decreased, now accounting for just under 81%.

Vietnam emerged as the second-largest supplier, more than doubling its mobile phone exports to Uzbekistan to 589,400 units. This sharp increase in supply elevated Vietnam’s share of the total import volume to 14%, showcasing the country’s growing presence in the Uzbek market.

India secured the third spot, supplying 113,600 phones, which was three times more than the previous year. This boost in supply helped increase India’s share of the total imports to 2.7%, indicating a strengthening trade relationship between the two nations.

Additionally, 46,000 units were imported from Hong Kong, while just over 5,000 phones were sourced from other countries. The diversification of import sources highlights Uzbekistan’s growing connectivity with global markets and the increasing importance of mobile technology in the country.

Overall, the surge in mobile phone imports reflects the rising demand for communication devices in Uzbekistan and the country’s expanding trade partnerships with key suppliers in Asia.
