Simplified visa process for Turkmen students studying in Russia

Russian Embassy in Turkmenistan to Begin Accepting Student Visa Applications
Starting on July 22, the Russian Embassy in Turkmenistan will start accepting documents for student visa applications for aspiring students and current students of Russian universities. This move aims to simplify the admission and return process for Turkmen youth studying in Russian educational institutions.
According to representatives of the embassy, the visa application process will only take place on Saturdays. By dedicating one day a week to dealing with student visa applications, the embassy can focus on a specific audience and simplify the procedure. This new initiative is also linked to an increase in the number of quotas allocated to Turkmen citizens in Russian universities.
Applicants are required to bring the following documents with them: an invitation from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia or visa instructions from the Consular Department of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, printed electronic application forms with a pre-filled photo from the website visa.kdmid.ru, a copy and original of their valid Turkmen passports (both internal and foreign passports), and a valid certificate proving the absence of HIV infection with a Russian translation. It should be noted that the HIV certificate is valid for three months, and the validity of the international passport must be at least 18 months from the visa expiration date stated in the invitation.
The visa issuance process takes approximately five working days for a regular study visa. However, for those in need of an urgent visa, it can be obtained within three business days, with a cost of $160.
This new procedure implemented by the Russian Embassy in Turkmenistan aims to facilitate the application process and make it more convenient for Turkmen students aspiring to study in Russian universities.
