Sinan Ateş’ Investigation Completed; Indictment Sent to 32nd High Criminal Court
Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office has filed an indictment against 22 suspects in connection with the murder of Sinan Ateş, former Ülkü Ocakları Education and Culture Foundation President and Hacettepe University Faculty Member.
The incident occurred on December 30, 2022, in the Çukurambar district of Ankara, where Sinan Ateş was shot and killed, and his companion Selman Bozkurt was severely injured. The Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office completed its investigation into the matter, leading to the indictment being sent to the Ankara 32nd High Criminal Court.
The suspects are facing charges of “premeditated murder,” “attempted murder,” “inciting a crime,” and “aiding a crime.” The Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office decided to separate the files of the detained suspects based on various factors, including the examination of evidence and the time spent in detention during the investigation phase.
Additionally, the investigation into the other 17 individuals involved in the case, who were banned from traveling abroad, is still ongoing through a separate file.
It was also reported that five suspects have already testified in the murder investigation of Sinan Ateş. The Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office is working diligently to bring justice to the victims and their families in this tragic incident.
