SİPER ÜRÜN-1 Air Defense Missile Successfully Test Fired.

Turkey’s SİPER Air Defense Missile system has successfully passed its last firing test and is now ready to enter the inventory. Developed in partnership with ROKETSAN-ASELSAN-TÜBİTAK SAGE, the Long Range Area Air Defense Missile System (UMBHSFS) SIPER, that has a range of 100+ kilometers, was tested with ASELSAN’s Long Range Search Radar (UMAR) and Fire Control Radar (AKR) in Sinop. During the test, the SIPER PRODUCT-1 Missile destroyed a Banshee Target UAV. The development of the SİPER PRODUCT-2 Missile with a range of 150+ kilometers for the SİPER System continues.

The system offers many features including air defense planning and coordination, multiple engagement and sequential firing, friend foe recognition (IFF), auto diagnostic management, and ability to work in harsh conditions. The system can connect via tactical data links (Link-16, JREAP-C) to upper command and operate with 8 FFS, each of which can fire 6 missiles.

The SİPER Air Defense Missile system is expected to be delivered to Turkey’s Air Force Command this year.
