Sisters Dilan Polat and Sıla Doğu Face Trouble Over Controversial Image
The investigation against Dilan Polat and her older sister Sinem Sıla Doğu has caused quite a stir after a video of them kissing lips to lips at an entertainment venue in Beşiktaş, Istanbul surfaced on social media. The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office has completed their investigation and included Dilan Polat and Sinem Sıla Doğu as ‘suspects’ in the case.
In the indictment, Dilan Polat explained that they were celebrating a friend’s birthday and that the kiss was a playful gesture that was misinterpreted when shared on social media. She emphasized that her sister, Sinem Sıla Doğu, has always been like a mother to her, and the incident was purely a sisterly moment taken out of context.
Sinem Sıla Doğu also defended the innocent nature of the kiss, stating that it was a reflexive action between siblings who had been through difficult times together. She expressed shame at being charged for what she believed was a harmless gesture of affection.
Both sisters are facing a sentence of 6 months to 1 year in prison for ‘immoral acts’ according to the indictment. The case will now be sent to the Istanbul Criminal Court of First Instance for trial in the near future.
