Six Cadastre State Institution Employees Arrested in Uzgen

On July 13, 2024, the 24.kg news agency reported that officials and responsible persons in Uzgen district are under suspicion for abuse of official position. The State Committee for National Security announced that on May 18, 2024, the former head of Jylaldy aiyl aimak of Uzgen district and the former head of the Cadastre state institution were detained for their alleged involvement in the illegal allocation of land plots.

A criminal case has been opened and is currently being investigated under Article 337 “Abuse of official position” of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. The SCNS mentioned that six employees of the Uzgen branch of Cadastre, who are believed to be accomplices, have also been held accountable for their actions.
