Bishkek – 24.kg news agency
The average total pension in Kyrgyzstan is set to increase to 10,547 soms after a recent announcement by the Chairman of the Social Fund, Baktiyar Aliyev. This comes after a decree signed by President Sadyr Japarov in June, which includes an 18 percent indexation of the insurance part of the pension starting from October 1.
According to Aliyev, the total amount of assigned pensions below 6,900 soms will be raised to the minimum subsistence level of 6,900 soms. It is estimated that by October 1, the number of pensioners in the country will reach 787,500 people, with the average pension amounting to 10,547 soms.
Furthermore, the basic part of the pension was also increased in July to 3,500 soms for those who previously received below the established rate of 3,170 soms.
These adjustments aim to improve the financial situation of pensioners in Kyrgyzstan and ensure that they can meet their basic needs. The news has been welcomed by many in the country as a positive step towards ensuring economic security for retirees.
