Socio-Economic Briefing Held at Turkmenistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs
A briefing was recently held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan to discuss the outcomes of the Turkmenistan Investment Forum and Exhibition (TIF 2024). The forum, which took place on September 10-11 in Ashgabat, brought together government officials, international organizations, financial institutions, and numerous local and foreign companies.
During the briefing, Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov highlighted the success of TIF 2024 and emphasized Turkmenistan’s initiatives towards industrial and innovative development. Of particular interest at the briefing were the events held in conjunction with the Investment Forum, including the foundation laying and launching of significant energy, transport, and communication infrastructure projects involving Turkmenistan and Afghanistan. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, along with other high-level officials, played a key role in these important initiatives.
Ambassadors from India and China, as well as a representative from the Embassy of Afghanistan in Turkmenistan, praised Turkmenistan’s efforts as not only benefiting the country’s socio-economic development but also contributing to regional and global progress. They highlighted the significance of these projects in aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals.
