Sokuluk Mosque Engulfed in Massive Fire

Bishkek – January 25, 2025

A large fire broke out in a mosque in Sokuluk yesterday evening, as reported by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan.

Upon receiving a report of the fire, four fire crews immediately responded and began extinguishing the flames at 8:15 p.m. An operational group, water trucks, two Interior Ministry crews, and an ambulance team were also dispatched to the scene to assist in the firefighting efforts.

The fire was successfully extinguished at 3 a.m., after approximately 900 square meters of the area had been burned. Luckily, there were no casualties reported as a result of the fire. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by authorities.
