President Erdogan Engages in Intensive Diplomacy Ahead of Feast
President Erdogan has been actively engaging in diplomacy efforts in the lead up to the feast. Discussions on bilateral relations, regional, and global issues have been at the forefront, with a major focus on Israel’s attacks on Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria.
Erdogan extended his greetings for the Ramadan Feast to leaders of various countries including Qatar, Palestine, Egypt, Iran, Azerbaijan, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Senegal, Jordan, United Arab Emirates, and the leaders of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. In a telephone conversation with Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, discussions on bilateral relations, regional, and global issues were held, with special attention to the ongoing attacks in Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria.
President Erdogan expressed his commitment to continue efforts to improve relations between Turkey and Iran in a conversation with Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi. He also spoke with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, emphasizing the need for unity among Palestinians to address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and pledging Turkey’s ongoing support to raise the voice of Palestine on international platforms.
During a phone call with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, Erdogan stressed the importance of coordination between Turkey and Egypt on regional issues. He emphasized the necessity of working together to achieve a permanent ceasefire and peace in the region following Israel’s recent attacks.
In a meeting with the King of Jordan, Erdogan highlighted the urgency of ceasing Israel’s attacks on Palestine, Syria, and Lebanon to restore peace and stability in the region. He called for increased efforts from both regional countries and the international community to work collectively towards achieving peace and stability.
