“Space Traveler Training Begins: Latest News from Turkey”
Turkey Begins Training Process for First Manned Space Mission
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended the Aviation, Space and Technology Festival TEKNOFEST at Istanbul Atatürk Airport, where he introduced Turkey’s first space travelers, Alper Gezeravcı and Tuva Cihangir Atasever, to the public. The Turkish Space Agency announced via social media that the training process for Turkey’s first manned space mission has begun in the USA.
The space passengers, AstroAlper and AstroTuva, are undergoing altitude training in San Antonio, Texas, to prepare their bodies for possible pressure losses during their space mission. They must become familiar with their bodies to avoid potential health issues that could arise.
This is a milestone for Turkey, as it is the country’s first manned space mission. The Turkish government has invested heavily in its space program since its establishment in 2018. The program aims to bolster Turkey’s technological innovation and help raise the country’s profile globally.
Turkish Space Agency officials have expressed their confidence in the success of the mission and look forward to the positive impact it will have on the Turkish space industry.
