SpaceX Announces Direct Smartphone Connectivity to Starlink

SpaceX to Begin Testing Cellular Communications Using Starlink Satellites
American entrepreneur Elon Musk’s company, SpaceX, is gearing up to start testing cellular communications using their Starlink satellites in December. This move will enable smartphones to connect directly to the global satellite system established by SpaceX.
In order to proceed with these tests, the company has submitted an application to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the United States, seeking a license for the testing process. The testing is set to commence on December 10 and is expected to last for a period of 180 days.
For these trials, SpaceX has partnered with T-Mobile, a consortium of companies specializing in mobile communications. Their goal is to test cellular communications using the licensed frequency spectrum of the mobile operator, transmitting a signal from satellites to 2,000 test devices.
The company plans to initiate the testing of satellite cellular communications in 13 areas of the country. These include locations such as Mountain View in California, Kansas City in Kansas, and Houston in Texas, among others.
This endeavor represents a significant step forward in the field of satellite technology and promises to revolutionize cellular communications on a global scale.
