SSS Officers Capture Smugglers with 1.4 kg of Gold in Uzbekistan

Several individuals in Uzbekistan have been caught attempting to smuggle gold items out of the country to Türkiye through Kyrgyzstan. The Andijan Regional SSS Department, along with the Regional Customs Department, conducted rapid operations leading to the apprehension of these criminals.

In one instance, four individuals from Andijan city and district were caught trying to smuggle gold items, including a chain, a tooth mold, and a crowbar, with a total weight of 556 grams and a value of 474 million 256 thousand soums. Another woman from Izboskan district was stopped at the “Madaniyat” border-customs post with gold items weighing 568 grams and valued at 431 million 894 thousand soums.

Additionally, a woman from Namangan district was apprehended while trying to illegally export gold chains and bullion with a net weight of 271 grams and a value of 249,240,000 soums.

It was discovered that these individuals planned to transport the gold articles to Türkiye through Kyrgyzstan. Criminal cases have been initiated against them under Article 182, Part 2, Paragraph “a” of the Criminal Code, and investigations are ongoing to uncover further details.
