SSS Officers Seize Nearly 20kg of Drugs Smuggled from Russia and Kazakhstan in Tashkent Region
Employees of the Tashkent city State Security Service department, in collaboration with internal affairs bodies, have successfully conducted a series of operative activities in Tashkent and the Tashkent region, resulting in the prevention of the distribution of nearly 20 kg of synthetic drugs, as reported by the press service of the State Security Service.
During a search conducted at the residence of a citizen in the Kibray district of the Tashkent region, authorities discovered a significant quantity of drugs intended for sale. The seized drugs included 4.8 kg of mephedrone, 3.8 kg of spice, and 2.1 kg of the psychostimulant known as “Alpha-PVP”.
Investigations revealed that these substances were brought into the country from Kazakhstan without going through customs checks. The perpetrators had planned to sell the drugs in small quantities through online platforms.
In another incident, a truck arriving from Russia and carrying spare parts for cars was found to conceal 3.8 kg of mephedrone hidden inside three cardan shafts in the Zangiata district of the Tashkent region. Two individuals involved in this scheme had also intended to distribute the drugs in small doses through online channels.
Furthermore, a search at the temporary residence of a Syrdarya native in the Yangikhayot district of Tashkent led to the discovery of 5.7 kg of the potent substance pregabalin, imported from Russia.
The individual in possession of the pregabalin had planned to stash small portions of the substance in discreet locations within the Yangikhayot and Sergeli districts for sale through the Telegram messenger app.
Criminal cases have been initiated against the individuals involved in these drug trafficking activities, and they have been placed under detention as a preventive measure.
The concerted efforts of the State Security Service and internal affairs bodies have successfully thwarted these illegal drug distribution activities, ensuring the safety and well-being of the residents of Tashkent and the surrounding region.
