
State Enterprises Mandated to Purchase Lamps Exclusively from Mailuu-Suu Plant

Bishkek – 24.kg news agency reported that the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan has directed domestic enterprises to purchase lamps exclusively from the Mailuu-Suu plant. The Minister of Energy, Taalaibek Ibraev, made this announcement during a meeting of the Parliament.
Previously known for producing incandescent electric lamps, the Mailuu-Suu plant has now shifted its focus to manufacturing energy-saving light bulbs. Minister Ibraev emphasized that all energy companies and power distribution zones have received instructions to procure lamps from this plant, and he also encouraged others to consider using them.
Deputy Kamila Talieva also suggested that there should be more promotion of domestic products to support local industries.
During the meeting, the draft law “On Energy Saving” was approved by the deputies in the second reading. This legislation aims to update existing terms and introduce new measures related to energy saving and energy efficiency in the country.
Overall, this initiative highlights the government’s efforts to promote energy-efficient practices and support domestic manufacturing in Kyrgyzstan.
