Statistics of Schengen Visa Applications and Refusals for Citizens of Uzbekistan Published

According to information from the European Union, our compatriots from Uzbekistan submitted a total of 46,503 applications for a Schengen visa last year. The European Commission reported that out of these applications, 16.5% were refused, while 38,333 were approved.
Comparing these numbers to the previous year, there was a slight increase in the proportion of refusals, with 0.4% more applications being rejected in 2023 compared to 2022 when 39,509 applications were submitted.
Overall, EU consulates and associated Schengen countries received a total of over 10.3 million applications for short-term visas last year. This marks a 37% increase from the previous year, but is still lower than the number of visa requests in 2019 before the pandemic, which stood at 17 million.
It is clear that there continues to be a significant demand for Schengen visas among citizens of Uzbekistan and other countries, despite the challenges presented by the ongoing global health crisis. This information underscores the importance of visa processes and the need for consulates to efficiently handle the increasing number of applications.
