Borsa Istanbul Starts the Day with an Increase
The Borsa Istanbul (BIST) started the day on a positive note as the BIST 100 index increased by 48.48 points and 0.46 percent compared to the previous close, reaching 10,494.72 points.
The banking index saw a gain of 0.56 percent, while the holding index increased by 0.24 percent. Among the sector indexes, sports showed the biggest gain with 2.67 percent, while securities investment trusts experienced the biggest decline with 0.30 percent.
After experiencing a bullish trend yesterday, the BIST 100 index closed the day with a 1 percent increase at 10,446.24 points.
Analysts noted that despite positive statements from the US Federal Reserve (Fed) Chairman Jerome Powell regarding inflation, global markets are showing a mixed trend. Today, investors are focusing on a busy data agenda, including the ADP private sector employment in the US and domestic inflation data.
