Strong Earthquake Hits Sulawesi, Indonesia
On Saturday, a significant earthquake measuring 6.0 on the Richter scale struck the Sulawesi region of Indonesia, as reported by the country’s Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency. Fortunately, officials indicated that there is no potential for a tsunami as a result of this seismic activity.
The European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported a slightly lower magnitude of 5.9 for the earthquake, which occurred at a depth of 109 kilometers (approximately 68 miles).
Authorities are monitoring the situation closely, but as of now, there have been no reports of significant damage or casualties. Residents in the areas affected are advised to stay vigilant while authorities continue to assess the impact of the quake.
