Sudden Climate Shift Forecasted in Kyrgyzstan
After a long period of unusually warm and dry days, Kyrgyzstan is bracing for a significant weather change from March 24 to 26. The 112 emergency service has issued a warning about the upcoming weather conditions.
The forecast indicates a drop in air temperature, intermittent rain, thunderstorms, snowfall in mountainous areas, and icy roads in high-altitude regions. There is also a possibility of westward winds strengthening to 15-20 meters per second.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations has highlighted the risk of mudflows in the foothill areas of Chui, Talas, Osh, Jalal-Abad, and Batken regions due to heavy rainfall. Residents are advised to clear drainage systems and water pipes to prevent flooding.
Furthermore, until March 23, there is a heightened risk of avalanches, snowdrifts, and icy roads in mountainous areas and on specific routes such as Bishkek—Osh and Karakol—Enilchek. Drivers are urged to maintain a safe distance between vehicles when traveling through avalanche-prone zones.
