Sunday By-Election: Voting begins at 08:00

The Supreme Election Board (YSK) has announced the voting process for the Parliamentary and Local Organization Bodies Midterm Elections. According to the YSK, the voting will begin at 08:00 and end at 18:00 on 25 June.

In their announcement, the YSK emphasized that certain prohibitions must be observed on voting day. Firstly, it is forbidden for any person to carry the emblem or sign of a candidate or political party in or around the polling stations. Additionally, it is not allowed to use clothing, commodities, or masks that evoke the colors associated with the propaganda of a candidate or political party.

Furthermore, the law prohibits the sale of alcoholic beverages and the consumption of alcohol in alcoholic places and public areas. Public entertainment venues will remain closed during the voting period, with the exception of restaurants that serve meals.

Finally, apart from those responsible for security and order, carrying weapons in villages, towns, and cities is strictly prohibited.

The YSK has made it clear that no news, predictions, or results regarding the election and its outcomes should be published by any media entity until 19:00 on Sunday, 25 June 2023, as stated in Article 104 of the Election and Referendum Law No. 5/1976.
