Supporting the Training Potential of Turkmenistan’s Customs Service with New Special Equipment

The State Customs Service of Turkmenistan is set to receive a boost in training capabilities thanks to new equipment provided under the BOMCA 10 Program. On February 21, the Training Center of the State Customs Service welcomed specialized training equipment and ICT equipment worth 9,620.94 euros.
This new equipment, which includes state-of-the-art tools for checking vehicles such as cars and trucks, will enhance practical training at the center. Customs officers will benefit from improved skills and competencies in conducting effective inspections at border posts to identify illegally transported goods, weapons, drugs, and other prohibited items.
In addition to the specialized equipment, the BOMCA 10 Program also delivered a set of educational tools such as an interactive whiteboard, projectors, screens, and tablets. These resources will not only enhance the educational process at the training center but also support distance learning initiatives.
The acquisition of these assets is part of Component 3 of the BOMCA 10 Program, which focuses on “Facilitating legitimate trade flows across borders.” The specific aim is to strengthen the capacity of customs, veterinary, and phytosanitary training institutions in Turkmenistan.
This investment in training equipment underscores the commitment to improving border security and enhancing the skills of customs officers. With the latest technical solutions at their disposal, customs officials in Turkmenistan are better equipped to ensure compliance with regulations and combat illegal activities at the border.
As Turkmenistan continues to prioritize border security and trade facilitation, the support provided by the BOMCA 10 Program plays a vital role in achieving these objectives.
