
Suspect arrested for robbing foreigner in Kara-Balta at 27 years old

A suspect has been arrested for allegedly robbing a foreigner in Kara-Balta city, according to a report from the Main Department of Internal Affairs of Chui region.
The incident took place on October 10 at the Semerochka store on 40 Years of Kirgiziya Street at around 7:30 p.m. A man of Asian descent reportedly used physical force against a 37-year-old foreign citizen, identified as I.N., and stole his cell phone valued at 26,000 soms. The suspect also took the victim’s wallet containing 29,420 soms before fleeing the scene.
The Department of Internal Affairs of Zhaiyl district registered the case and opened a criminal investigation under the charge of “Robbery” as per the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. The police were able to apprehend the suspect, identified as K.A., aged 27, and recovered the stolen phone and wallet with the money.
K.A. has been placed in a temporary detention facility while a forensic medical examination has been ordered as part of the ongoing investigation process.
