Tashkent Hosts Diplomatic Summit for Central Asia and GCC

Delegations from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, the UAE, Oman, and Saudi Arabia gathered today in Tashkent for the second meeting of foreign ministers of the Strategic Dialogue “Central Asia – Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf.” The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, is also in attendance as an honored guest.

The main agenda of the meeting includes a review of the progress made in implementing agreements from the first summit of the heads of state of Central Asia and the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, which took place in Jeddah on July 19, 2023. Discussions will focus on enhancing cooperation in political, trade-economic, investment, transport-communication, cultural-humanitarian spheres, as well as in security and environmental protection.

Furthermore, the delegates will exchange views on preparations for the next summit in the “Central Asia – Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf” format, scheduled to take place in Samarkand in 2025. This meeting aims to strengthen ties and promote collaboration between the two regions for mutual benefits and development.

The participants are expected to engage in productive discussions and constructive dialogue to further enhance cooperation and partnerships between Central Asia and the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf. The meeting marks a significant step towards fostering closer relations and achieving common goals for the prosperity and well-being of both regions.
