“Tatlisu to be Painted by Paragliders”
Turkey Paragliding Target League’s 1st Stage competition will be taking place in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus with the cooperation of the Turkish Air Association, the Turkish Air Sports Federation, and the TRNC Air Sports Federation. The competition will be held in Tatlısu between 2-4 June, and it has been organized with the support of Tatlısu Municipality, the Sports Department, Prime Ministry Anti-Drug Commission, and Youth Department.
Teams of four people will be competing in the races, and the race will involve 8 laps where competitors will land in a determined target. On the first day of the competition, training flights will be given, and a briefing will be provided about the competition. From the second day onwards, flight and destination arrivals will take place.
The President of the TRNC Air Sports Federation, Zeki Ziya, expressed his pleasure in organizing the event and stated that it has been three years since a stage of the Turkish Aeronautical Association Paragliding Target League has been held in the TRNC. He noted that the TRNC has excellent athletes in paragliding, and some of them compete on behalf of the Turkish national team and in Europe. He also emphasized that the competition will contribute to introducing the country to adrenaline enthusiasts and will support tourism in the region.
