Tax Department Employees Detained in Tokmak

Kyrgyzstan’s State Committee for National Security (SCNS) has made significant progress in combating corruption with the recent detention of several officials and a private entrepreneur for abuse of office. The former head of the Department of the State Tax Service, as well as other officials, were involved in a conspiracy to evade taxes by falsifying documents and reports submitted to government agencies. This led to a staggering damage to the state budget of over 8,500 million soms.

The SCNS press center disclosed that the suspects have been placed in the pretrial detention center No. 1 of the State Penitentiary Service following their arrest on March 3. The investigation is ongoing, and the total amount of damage to the state budget may rise as further details emerge.

This crackdown on corruption is a positive step towards ensuring transparency and accountability within the government. The authorities are committed to upholding the rule of law and holding those responsible for financial crimes accountable. The public can rest assured that such actions will not go unnoticed, and justice will be served.
