
Tax Inspector Arrested for Accepting 500,000 Soms Bribe

The State Committee for National Security (SCNS) has recently uncovered a case of money extortion involving an inspector from the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Finance. According to the SCNS press center, the inspector, identified as K.A.A., was apprehended on January 14, 2025, while accepting a bribe of 500,000 soms.
A criminal case has been initiated against the individual under the charge of “Extortion on an especially large scale.” Following his arrest, he has been placed in the SCNS pretrial detention center as the investigation into the matter continues.
This case serves as a reminder that corruption within government institutions will not be tolerated, and those individuals involved in such illicit activities will be held accountable for their actions.
