
TCG ANADOLU embarks on its first mission

The TCG ANADOLU Multi-Purpose Amphibious Assault Ship, which was entered into the Naval Forces Command inventory on April 10, 2023, has embarked on its first mission. After being open to the public in Istanbul and Izmir, the ship is leaving Izmir to participate in a planned exercise. The Sea Wolf Exercise, DENİZKURDU-I and II/2023, will take place between June 1-4 and June 6-12, 2023, and will involve 107 surface ships, 9 submarines, 56 airborne units, amphibious marine infantry units, SAT-SAS teams, and coastal units, including TCG ANADOLU.
In addition to the Naval Forces Command, attack, general purpose, and heavy load helicopters from the Land Forces Command and attack, general purpose, warning and control, target towing, and electronic test aircraft from the Air Force Command are also set to participate in the exercise. The total of the Sea Wolf Exercise will involve 113 surface ships, 9 submarines, 59 aircraft, 35 helicopters, 19 unmanned aerial vehicles, and approximately 18,000 personnel, including public institutions.
The exercise will include “Basic Naval Trainings” and “Actual Gunshots” between June 1-4, “Port Visits” by 76 ships on June 5, and “Operation in a Highly Threatened Environment” training between June 6-9, based on a scenario.
The TCG ANADOLU is a monument of pride and pride for the Ministry of National Defense that is expected to provide a significant contribution to Turkey’s security and defense capabilities.
