Teenager Injured in Mass Brawl in Kara-Balta City
Bishkek – On October 25, a teenager was shot and wounded during a mass brawl in Kara-Balta city, according to eyewitnesses of the incident. The news was reported by 24.kg news agency.
The brawl occurred in the early hours of October 25 in the area known as Sosnovsky turn. The Main Department of Internal Affairs in Chui region confirmed that the fight involved teenagers between the ages of 16 and 18. During the altercation, one of the participants fired a hunting rifle, injuring a 15-year-old boy in the knee. The victim was immediately taken to the traumatology department of Zhayil district for treatment.
Law enforcement officers swiftly apprehended all the individuals involved in the brawl and brought them to the Internal Affairs Department. A criminal case has been opened under Article 280 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, which pertains to hooliganism with the use of weapons.
The teenager responsible for firing the hunting rifle has been identified as an 18-year-old resident of Alekseevka village. He has been placed in a temporary detention center while the investigation continues.
