Temporary Reduction in Gas Supply to Methane Stations

Gas supply to methane stations across Uzbekistan has been temporarily reduced due to a sharp drop in air temperature, causing an increase in demand for natural gas. UzEnergoInspection has announced that the supply will only be gradually restored to the methane filling stations once the pressure in the pipelines and installations reaches the required level.

According to a report by UzEnergoInspection, between February 9 and 12, the supply of gas to methane filling stations was reduced in line with schedules set by local authorities, in response to the extreme cold weather and surge in demand for natural gas.

On February 10, a rupture and subsequent fire occurred in a section of the Bukhara – Ural main gas pipeline passing through the Bukhara region. The Ministry of Energy has confirmed that the fire has been extinguished, and natural gas is now being transported without interruptions via a backup pipeline, ensuring continued delivery to consumers.

Repair work on the damaged section of the pipeline is currently underway, as reported by Uztransgaz. However, no specific information has been provided regarding the completion or expected timeline for the repairs.

As the situation unfolds, authorities are working to restore the gas supply to methane filling stations across Uzbekistan, taking into consideration the challenges posed by the cold weather and infrastructure maintenance.
