Bukhara Airport Temporarily Suspends Aircraft Due to Strong Dust Storm
Bukhara Airport in Uzbekistan has temporarily suspended receiving aircraft due to a strong dust storm. The unfavorable weather conditions forced two flights to divert to alternative airfields in Samarkand and Navoi.
One of the affected flights was Turkish Airlines’ TK-266 on the Istanbul-Bukhara route, which was unable to land at the designated airport due to the dust storm. The crew made the decision to fly to an alternative airfield in Samarkand, and at 15:20 local time, the plane successfully landed at the Samarkand airport with 62 passengers on board.
Similarly, Uzbekistan Airways’ flight HY-23 on the Tashkent-Bukhara route also diverted to the alternative airfield in Navoi. The plane landed at Navoi airport at 15:25 Tashkent time, carrying 139 passengers.
The dust storm has disrupted air travel to Bukhara, leading to the temporary suspension of aircraft at the airport. Passengers are advised to check with their airlines for updates and alternative arrangements. Stay tuned for further developments on the situation at Bukhara Airport.
