Termez Free Trade Zone Implements 15-Day Visa-Free Policy

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan has recently approved new measures to develop the International Trade Center in Termez, allowing for more opportunities for foreign entrepreneurs. In a move to boost economic development and trade relations, Afghan and Pakistani citizens are now permitted to not only lease but also own shops, services, and production facilities within the center.

The new regulations also allow for payment in various foreign currencies such as US dollars, euros, Chinese yuan, and Russian rubles. Financial transactions will be handled through the accounts of legal entities operating within the center via branches of commercial banks.

One of the key benefits for foreign nationals is visa-free entry into the center, with a maximum stay of up to 15 days. Medical clinic patients within the center will also be provided with medical entry visas when necessary.

Goods purchased within the center can be imported into Uzbekistan, but customs duties will apply. It is important to note that duty-free import regulations and VAT refund rules do not apply within the center.

To further facilitate trade and transportation, bus services from Mazar-i-Sharif in Afghanistan to the center are in the planning stages. Additionally, a specialized customs post will be established within the Termez International Trade Center to streamline import and export processes.

Overall, these new measures aim to attract foreign investment, promote economic growth, and enhance trade relations with neighboring countries in the region. Citizens of Afghanistan and Pakistan now have the opportunity to be active participants in the business activities within the International Trade Center in Termez.
