Tesla Driver Identified in Explosion Outside Trump’s Hotel
A US Army soldier identified as Matthew Alan Livelsberger has been identified as the individual who died in a vehicle explosion in front of the Trump hotel in Las Vegas. The 37-year-old soldier, originally from Colorado, joined the army in 2006 as a special forces communications specialist and was stationed at a military base in Germany.
Livelsberger had recently transitioned to a role as a remote and autonomous systems manager in the army and was on leave in Colorado at the time of the explosion. The Tesla Cybertruck that exploded was rented from Turo, an online car sharing company based in Colorado.
The incident occurred on the first day of the new year, around 8:15 am local time, resulting in the death of Livelsberger and minor injuries to 7 individuals nearby. Las Vegas police discovered filled picnic tubes and fireworks in the vehicle’s trunk.
President Joe Biden has stated that the FBI is investigating any potential links between this incident and a recent vehicle attack in New Orleans that claimed 15 lives. However, no definitive conclusions have been drawn yet. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the explosion at the Trump hotel in Las Vegas continues.
