Thousands of Farmers Benefit from Low-interest Loans

On September 14th, 2024, the 24.kg news agency reported that a total of 9,695 farmers in Kyrgyzstan have received preferential loans as part of the Financing of Agriculture – 12 project. The Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry announced that the total amount of lending under this project has reached 3,837,473 billion soms in the year 2024.

The majority of the loans, totaling 3,410,393 billion soms, were issued for livestock breeding, with a total of 8,386 loans distributed. Additionally, 1,309 farmers received loans amounting to 427,080 million soms for crop production.

These preferential loans for agriculture are being provided by two state-owned banks, Eldik Bank and Aiyl Bank. This initiative aims to support farmers in Kyrgyzstan and enhance the agricultural sector in the country. With the assistance of these loans, farmers can invest in their businesses and contribute to the growth and development of the agricultural industry.
