Thousands of Unlicensed Weapons Confiscated in Massive Operation in Konya

A recent operation in Konya, Turkey has led to the discovery and confiscation of thousands of unlicensed weapons. The operation was specifically targeting an organized criminal gang that was producing and distributing these illegal weapons.
According to CNN Türk Istanbul News Manager Nihat Uludağ, the Konya Safety KOM branch teams stopped a vehicle and found 400 unlicensed weapons inside. This led them to a gun workshop where even more weapons and weapon parts were seized.
In total, 26 thousand pieces of weapons were confiscated, with 18 thousand 576 of them being pistol barrels and other parts. Uludağ emphasized the importance of this operation, stating that if it had not been carried out, an additional 18,000 weapons would have been produced and released onto the streets.
As a result of the operation, four suspects were arrested and are now facing judicial proceedings. These individuals are believed to be part of a larger network of arms smugglers who are using social media platforms to advertise and market their illegal products.
This incident comes shortly after the arrest of four suspects in Samsun for alleged arms smuggling, indicating a broader issue of illegal weapon trafficking in the country. Authorities are cracking down on these activities to ensure the safety and security of the public.
