Three Patients Receive Successful Kidney Transplants in Bishkek
Three successful kidney transplant operations were recently carried out at the Recep Tayyip Erdogan Kyrgyz-Turkish Friendship Hospital in Bishkek. From April 7th to April 9th, patients suffering from chronic kidney failure underwent surgical procedures, which were completed safely. The Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan confirmed that the recipients and donors are in stable condition following the operations.
The skilled team of transplantologists from Turkey conducted the surgeries, ensuring the well-being of all involved. Health Minister Erkin Checheybaev visited the patients and met with the medical team to express gratitude to their Turkish counterparts for their valuable contribution to the advancement of transplantology. The Minister also highlighted the strong bilateral medical cooperation between the two countries.
During his visit, Erkin Checheybaev also spent time with patients who underwent kidney transplants in 2023, as well as their donors and family members. They shared their experiences and the positive impact the procedures had on their health and quality of life.
The development of transplantology at the Kyrgyz-Turkish Friendship Hospital began in May 2023, with the first kidney transplant operations taking place in August of the same year for individuals who had been on dialysis for an extended period. The recent successful surgeries continue to showcase the progress and advancements in medical care at the hospital.
