Titanic: The Last Living Eyewitness Reveals the Truth
The first full comprehensive screening of the Titanic has revealed new details about the ship’s final moments before sinking to the depths of the ocean. According to the BBC, three-dimensional digital images obtained from the wreckage show the ship in unprecedented detail.
After striking an iceberg, the Titanic split into two pieces at a depth of 3,800 meters, allowing researchers to view the wreck in its entirety for the first time. The images captured a large number of holes, each the size of an A4 paper, which contributed to the ship’s rapid sinking. Pieces of the iceberg were also found to have entered some passenger cabins during the collision.
Titanic expert Parks Stephenson commented on the new findings, stating, “The Titanic ship, this disaster, the last living eyewitness, and still stories to tell.” The images also revealed the heroic efforts of the workers in the boiler room, who fought to keep the ship’s lights on until the very end. Thanks to their efforts, many people were able to survive the tragedy.
Despite the sinking, the workers managed to keep the lights and electricity running, providing some visibility in the darkness as the ship went under. Stephenson commended the engineer team for their bravery and dedication in ensuring the safety of others.

Tragically, the ship struck an iceberg on April 15, 1912, and sank in the waters of the North Atlantic. Over 1,500 people lost their lives in the disaster, with only 710 survivors rescued by the Carpathia ship.
