Today’s Portable Sealed Box Voting Day
The 2024 State Great Khural Election is set to take place tomorrow, with a total of 16,352 voters opting to cast their ballots using portable sealed ballot boxes. These voters are participating in the election process today, with 5,247 of them located in Ulaanbaatar and 11,105 in rural areas.
According to the regulations outlined in the law governing the State Great Khural election, certain individuals are required to vote using portable sealed ballot boxes. These include voters who are unable to physically visit a polling station due to health issues, individuals engaged in public mobilization as stipulated by the Law on Mobilization, those undergoing compulsory medical treatment or who have been arrested in connection with a violation case, as well as voters who are currently detained.
The use of portable sealed ballot boxes ensures that these eligible voters are able to exercise their democratic right to participate in the election process, despite facing circumstances that prevent them from voting at a traditional polling station. As the election unfolds, the outcomes of these votes will be crucial in determining the overall results and representation in the State Great Khural.
