Turkish Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat Begins TRNC Contacts
Ömer Bolat, the Minister of Trade of the Republic of Turkey, has begun his official visit to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). During his visit, Bolat met with various political figures and discussed economic and commercial cooperation between Turkey and the TRNC.
One of Bolat’s first meetings was with the leader of the freedom struggle in the TRNC, Dr. Fazıl Küçük. He also took the time to visit the graves of Fazıl Küçük and Founding President Rauf Raif Denktaş, paying his respects to the country’s historical figures.
Following these initial meetings, Minister Bolat, accompanied by Minister of Economy and Energy Olgun Amcaoğlu, participated in a meeting held by the Ministry of Commerce of the Republic of Turkey and the Turkish Exporters’ Assembly at the Concorde Tower hotel. Discussions during the meeting centered on the economic and commercial cooperation between the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and Turkey.
Minister Olgun Amcaoğlu emphasized the importance of Turkey’s support in driving production across various sectors and overcoming closed economic conditions. Turkish Minister of Commerce Ömer Bolat also expressed his commitment to the development of TRNC, promising to do his best to support its growth.
In the upcoming days, the two ministers are set to attend the 12th Türkiye-TRNC Joint Committee Meeting and have scheduled meetings with the Speaker of the Assembly of the Republic Zorlu Töre, Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, and Minister of Finance Özdemir Berova as part of their official visit.
Bolat’s visit is expected to strengthen economic ties between Turkey and the TRNC and pave the way for further cooperation in the future.
