Traditional Seven-Room Yurt erected in Karakol

A Unique Seven-Room Yurt Unveiled in Issyk-Kul, Kyrgyzstan

In a picturesque region of Kyrgyzstan, a seven-room yurt has been set up, captivating the attention of locals and social media users alike. The stunning portable dwelling was showcased at the Ysyk-Kul Boz Ui Mekeni contest, which was part of the fifth Ulut Baskan uluu Zhol festival, commemorating the 155th anniversary of Karakol city.

The mastermind behind this innovative yurt project is local resident Salavat Imashev, who initially crafted a model of the seven-room yurt back in 2012 and patented the idea the same year. However, due to financial constraints at the time, the yurt was not able to be created in high quality and was eventually dismantled after being briefly displayed at Ala-Too square in Bishkek.

Now, 12 years later, Imashev and his team have successfully brought the project to fruition, with each room symbolizing a different region of Kyrgyzstan. The unity of these regions is represented under a single tunduk, symbolizing friendship and cooperation.

As the yurt stands as a symbol of unity and cultural heritage, options for its future use are currently being explored by Imashev and his team. Stay tuned for more updates on this fascinating and meaningful project.
