Traffic Ban Implemented for Heavy Vehicles in 6 Turkish Provinces
Snowfall continues to cause disruptions in many cities, with a new measure being taken to address the situation. The General Directorate of Highways (KGM) announced that several highways in Istanbul, Kocaeli, Sakarya, Duzce, Bolu, and Ankara will be closed to heavy vehicle traffic for two days.
According to the KGM, the General Directorate of Meteorology has predicted dangerous snowfall in Kocaeli, Sakarya, and Duzce provinces on Friday, February 21 at noon. As a result, a warning has been issued to alert residents of the potential risks.
In order to prevent traffic congestion and ensure the safety of drivers, heavy vehicles such as trucks, trailers, and tankers will be prohibited from using certain highways from Friday, February 21 at 13:00 until Sunday, February 23 at 13:00. Drivers are urged to follow traffic signs, take alternative routes, and cooperate with authorities during this period.
