Tragedy Strikes Nookat District: Lives Lost and Property Destroyed by Devastating Mudflow

A destructive mudflow hit the Nookat district of Osh region in Kyrgyzstan on June 28, causing widespread damage to infrastructure and homes. The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that heavy rains triggered the mudflow, which flooded ten courtyards and destroyed two bridges in Abshir-Ata village. In Teskei-Kozhoke village, 15 households and a school were damaged, while a car and bridge were swept away in Kara-Bulak village.

Additionally, seven courtyards and sheds were flooded in Tazhy-Kyshtak village, with the bridge on Osh-Razzakov road also suffering damage. Tragically, there have been reports of human casualties as a result of the mudflow.
