Tragedy Strikes: Woman Killed After Being Run Over by Bus in Beşiktaş
A tragic incident occurred in the Konaklar District of 4. Levent, where a woman lost her life after being run over by a bus in Beşiktaş. The victim, identified as Lütfiye Koyunoğlu, had just gotten off a minibus and was walking towards a bus stop when she was struck by an IETT bus on the Tuzla-Cevizlibağ route.
The bus, operated by driver Kemal B. (61), had the number 500T line, with plate number 34 BEZ 179. Unfortunately, Koyunoğlu was unable to escape in time and was trapped under the bus, resulting in fatal injuries. Medical teams arrived at the scene promptly but could not save the woman, confirming her death on-site.
Following the tragic accident, the police detained the bus driver and initiated an investigation into the incident. Witnesses described hearing screams before witnessing the harrowing scene of the woman being hit by the bus.
