Tragic Accident Claims Life of UTV Driver Muhammad Georca Captured on Camera
A tragic accident occurred on Saturday, February 22nd, at 02.00 on the way to Kemerburgaz, resulting in the death of Muhammad Gürcan Koçak. Koçak, who was standing on the safety lane trying to repair a UTV vehicle, was hit by the airport passenger service driver, identified as MY. The impact of the collision threw Koçak into a forest area by the roadside, and despite efforts to save him, he tragically passed away. Koçak was laid to rest at Yeniköy Cemetery after a funeral ceremony held on the same day.
Following the incident, the driver, MY, who fled the scene after the accident, was caught by Civil Traffic Police in Istanbul Airport through a joint operation involving various law enforcement agencies. MY initially claimed that he did not see Koçak and thought he hit a pig due to heavy snowfall. However, he was arrested and sent to prison.
Security camera footage of the accident surfaced, showing the service vehicle braking and then continuing on its way after the collision. The driver did not stop after the incident, further raising questions about the circumstances surrounding the tragic event.
The police are continuing their investigation to gather more information about the accident and to ensure that justice is served for Muhammad Gürcan Koçak.
