Five Uzbek Nationals Killed in Tragic Road Accident in Russia
On the morning of December 17, a devastating road accident took place on a federal highway in the Ulyanovsk region of Russia, resulting in the tragic deaths of five Uzbek nationals. The incident occurred at the 209th kilometer of the highway when a Chevrolet Cobalt carrying Uzbek passengers collided with a MAZ truck.
Preliminary reports indicate that the driver of the Cobalt lost control of the vehicle, causing it to swerve into the opposite lane and crash into the oncoming truck. The collision was severe, leaving the Cobalt completely wrecked and resulting in the immediate deaths of all five individuals inside the car.
The driver of the truck sustained injuries and was rushed to the hospital for medical treatment. Meanwhile, Uzbekistan’s Consulate General in Kazan has confirmed the identities and nationality of the victims, who ranged in age from 20 to 49. The consulate is currently working to facilitate the repatriation of their bodies back to Uzbekistan.
