A Tragic Incident: Pregnant Woman Dies from Anaphylactic Shock After Incorrect Injection
A 29-year-old pregnant woman tragically lost her life after being administered an antibiotic injection against medical indications, leading to an anaphylactic shock. The incident took place on April 13 at the medical association of the Bostanlyk district in Uzbekistan.
The pregnant woman, who was in the 28th week of her first pregnancy, had sought help at the maternity department due to feeling unwell. Despite having a noted allergy in her medical record, she was still prescribed the antibiotic injection. Following the injection, her condition worsened rapidly, and she was transferred to intensive care, where she fell into a coma.
Despite efforts to provide medical care, both the expectant mother and her unborn child could not be saved, and they tragically passed away.
The doctor responsible for prescribing the incorrect injection has been suspended from duty, and a pre-investigation check is currently underway. Additionally, a forensic medical examination has been ordered, and the Tashkent regional prosecutor’s office has taken control of the investigation.
