Tragic Car Accident Claims Lives of Three Friends in Bursa
In the early hours of the morning, a devastating car accident occurred in the Kestel district of Bursa, Turkey. The accident took place at around 01:00, following a birthday celebration for Eda Nur Baykay, who had gathered with her friends Sıla Çelik, Sinan Karakuş, and Adem Duran at a popular venue in the city center.
After enjoying the festivities, the group embarked on a journey to the İnegöl district in a car with the license plate 16 AFT 818, driven by Adem Duran. Unfortunately, tragedy struck as the vehicle, allegedly traveling at excessive speed, lost control on Ankara Boulevard in the Barakfaki Organized Industrial Zone. The car skidded approximately 50 meters before colliding with a traffic sign and ultimately crashing into a concrete lighting pole.
Witnesses who observed the accident immediately alerted the authorities and medical teams. Promptly responding to the distress call, numerous police officers, firefighters, and medical personnel were dispatched to the scene.
Regrettably, upon arrival, the medical teams discovered that Eda Nur Baykay, Sıla Çelik, and Sinan Karakuş had succumbed to their injuries, trapped inside the vehicle. Adem Duran, the driver, had to be extricated from the wreckage by the fire brigade and was subsequently handed over to the medical teams. Duran received immediate first aid before being urgently transported to Kestel State Hospital, where his life remained in grave danger.
To ensure public safety, the police implemented stringent security measures and controlled traffic flow in the vicinity.
The injured individual currently under treatment remains in a critical condition. Upon completion of initial investigations, the bodies of the three deceased victims were transferred to the morgue at the Bursa Forensic Medicine Institute. Once the car was successfully removed with the assistance of a tow truck, traffic resumed its normal flow.
In a heartbreaking twist, it was discovered that Eda Nur Baykay had shared a post on her social media account merely an hour before the tragic accident occurred. The post captured a video of her celebrating her birthday with her friends, happily blowing out the candles on a birthday cake.
This devastating incident serves as a tragic reminder of the importance of road safety and responsible driving. The loss of three beloved individuals has left the community mourning their untimely departure.
