Tragic News: Husband and Wife Killed, Baby Injured in Return from Birth
A tragic accident occurred on the North Marmara highway, resulting in the loss of life of one person and serious injuries to others. The incident took place in the Akyazı location when a car, driven by Selman Gungor, veered out of control and collided with a concrete barrier. Despite the efforts of emergency services, Selman Gungor lost his life at the scene of the accident, while his wife, Yonca Haymana Gungor, and their 5-day-old baby sustained severe injuries.
Yonca Haymana Gungor, a doctor at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Düzce University Hospital, was unable to be saved at Sakarya Training and Research Hospital, where she was transferred for treatment. The newborn baby girl remains in critical condition, fighting for her life.
The Gungor family had recently welcomed their baby girl into the world in Istanbul and were on their way back home to Düzce when the tragic accident occurred. An investigation into the cause of the crash is currently underway.
