“Tragic Picnic Incident in Afyonkarahisar Claims Four Lives”
Four people drowned and one person lost their life in a tragic incident that occurred at Akdağ Nature Park in Turkey’s Sandıklı district. The incident occurred when sixteen students from Hocalar High School came to the park for a picnic. One of the students lost their balance and fell into the water while trying to take a photo on a bridge over a pond. Upon seeing this, three people jumped into the water to save the student. However, four of them lost their lives in the water.
After the incident, the search and rescue teams from AFAD (The Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency) started their work to recover the bodies.
In another tragic incident, the dead body of the third missing youth, Azat Demiral, was found in Tunceli. Baran Aslantaş and Mehmet Can Demiral’s lifeless bodies were also found in Fırat River in Tunceli in the last few days. The search continues for the fourth missing person.
In a different news story, the mother of the missing University student, Jeannah Danys Dinabongho Ibouanga from Gabon, who was found dead in Filyos River in Karabük, Turkey, shared heartbreaking words. Jessica Sandra Makemba Panga expressed her regret that she could not attend her daughter’s 18th birthday as promised.
