Tragic Death of Şevval Şahin in Bolu Kartalkaya Hotel Fire
A devastating fire at the Grand Kartal Hotel in Bolu Kartalkaya has claimed the life of Şevval Şahin, a 25-year-old waiter who jumped from the 12th floor in an attempt to escape the flames. Şahin, who had only been working at the hotel for 1.5 months, was staying on the staff floor when the fire broke out.
Despite being seriously injured, Şevval Şahin was rushed to Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University Training and Research Hospital for treatment. It was later revealed that Şahin had made a video call to his father, Erdal Şahin, during the fire. Tragically, it was during this call that Şevval Şahin made the difficult decision to jump from the window in order to save himself.
Despite the efforts of medical staff in the intensive care unit, Şevval Şahin succumbed to his injuries during the night. His body was then transported to his father’s home in Bartın Demirciler District, where he will be laid to rest in Halatçıyaması Cemetery following a funeral prayer at noon today.
