Tragic Discovery After Days of Searching in Ordu
In a heartbreaking turn of events, a search operation that lasted several days led to the discovery of two missing individuals in Ordu, Turkey. The search began on May 1, triggered by concerns raised about Süleyman Erdoğan, a 35-year-old construction machinery operator, and his relative, 25-year-old Gizem Sinanoğlu, a second-year student at the Ulubey Vocational School.
On April 30, Erdoğan’s family reported him missing after they lost contact with him. The search intensified when Erdoğan’s car was found parked near Küpkaya Canyon in the Kardeşler neighborhood. As teams began combing the area, including divers who searched the canyon’s depths, it soon became evident that the outcome would be tragic.
Immensely sad news was confirmed when divers recovered Gizem Sinanoğlu’s lifeless body from a depth of approximately five meters in the canyon. Following this grim discovery, efforts shifted to locate Erdoğan. Unfortunately, his body was found roughly 100 meters away from where his vehicle was parked.
Süleyman Erdoğan was known for his dedication to his work at the Ulubey Municipality and was a married father of two. Meanwhile, Gizem Sinanoğlu was pursuing her studies in the veterinary health department, a promising young woman with her whole life ahead of her.
Authorities are now investigating the circumstances surrounding the deaths of both individuals, leaving their families and the community in shock and mourning as they grapple with this tragic loss.
